After reading WHADIFIND's post this morning and the comments from others, I decide to change my style up. I went back to the old tree that gave me the 3 silver coin spill earlier this week. I focused on a tight little area and went slow and low. I dug pretty much everything, including signals that I often skip. I definitely found some good targets that I know my coil went over the other day.
Here's what I ended up with:
2 pieces of can slaw
5 bottle caps
1 pull tab
11 zincolns
9 copper lincoln memorials
2 quarters
5 dimes
3 tokens
1 1920 buffalo nickel
I had the White's on full discriminate when I found the nickel. That surprised me. The signal was weak but I went ahead. It was about 5 or 6 inches down. Right when I saw it, I recognized the Indian head. It was awesome. The date is almost worn off but with a magnifying glass you can pretty easily see the "20" of the year. This is my second oldest coin dug. Also, it was only 2 or 3 feet from where I found the mercs the other day.
Thank you everyone for sharing hunting tips!
