Mid 1700's Complete Shoe Buckle..1798 Draped bust Shot coin ..Massive axe head

Went out on Saturday for a mid day hunt...Went to a very old spot that I have been to before...Targets are drying up but I managed a few keepers...The Axe head was at 14 inches deep and was a pleasant surprise.. It is HUGE 10" x 7"...Found one of my favorite things to find...A mid 1700's Complete Shoe buckle, With great patina  The chape was bent bad...but I bent it back as close as it would get without breaking...I found a 1798 Draped bust penny that looks like it was shot...pretty cool find...I found one flat button but I left it in my truck.

Great buckle! The LC is pretty neat, too. Nice detail despite the flesh wound.

Great finds, all three. That looks like an earlier variety of broad ax. Can't quite place it, but it looks 18th Century. :icon_thumright:

You had an outstanding day. All three finds are terrific, but personally that axe head really is my favorite. Maybe the targets are not drying up as quickly as you had feared.

I think the "shot" Draped Bust Cent is the best find. You will find more shoe buckles and axe heads but I bet that you will never find another coin like that one!

Great finds!! VPR

Ridiculous finds for sure, I don't think all the goodies are gone from that site, keep pounding it.

I was waiting for you to post those finds, you did a nice job straightening out the buckle. I still think you should restore that axe head, get a new handle and give it to me for Christmas.

Great looking buckle and that's one impressive looking axe, once you clean it up it may have a touch mark on it.
