The cold breath of winter beat on my neck while I tried to sniff out a few more targets at the park. There were a couple of areas that were frozen solid. One of them coughed up a silver after I toiled with the ground for a few minutes.

I found a few wheats and 30's/40's pennies and even a couple of musketballs. Here are the highlights.

I was surprised to find this one. This is my oldest from the park so far. -- Philip Broke Halifax Halfpenny

You may be right...it's a bitter cold morning and I would imagine the ground is frozen now. When I really start to get the itch in the winter a quick drive to the beach usually cures that...always good for a pocket full of musketballs and possibly a cannonball. You must have some nice salty beaches in your area with some history...
