Second hunt on the Union camp after crops off. Had a really great day. First hit was an 1861 half-dime, and it just got better. Highlights: Canteen throat, Cap-box flap button, Bayonet-scabbard-tip finial, Eagle cuff, some kind of weird flower button (Posted in "What-is-it" but if you've seen one before, please enlighten me) a couple of button backs, one of them must have been intact until the last plowing, because I found pieces of the face in the hole (dang it!) - and the best (for me) was a Michigan cuff button, which I'd never found before. Then 50 yards later, I found another. I have covered about 10% of the fields, so "stoked" isn't even the right word!
