Very pretty Colonial buckle found in Pa.

This was found at 2 in. deep reading was silver dollar, any help on getting this thing ID'd would be nice, the back of the buckle has a hallmark. good luck everyone hh

Nice! Looks to be around the 1790's. Is it silver? Brass? I like relics like that better than coins (unless it's a really good coin). Keep up the good finds! Dave.

Its silver in color. with a coin you know when its silver, this buckle looks like its silver to me the pic has a brassy hue but in my hands its definatly silver.
