Well. Didn't the Chinese invent stuff like that?

My wife and I went out looking for a spot to hunt. Didn't even get to where we planned to go. Just pulled over on the side of a dirt road and started hunting. It wasn't until two other spots after that, that we decided to go home, then she showed me the washer she found.

"Honey, that's not washer, it's a Chinese coin", She says, "What's it worth", "That's not the point, it's a Chinese coin."

Well, needless to say, she's not nearly as excited as I am. Technically, she found it. But California is a community protperty State, so WE FOUND IT. LOL

And the fact that this find was between two documented gold rush era mines, really excites me more.

Rob, I think the likelihood of getting a date is slim. It's pretty beat up. Not surprising given the terrain it was found it. Lots of rock. I'll take a look and see if I can narrow down a date later, but I believe it's certainly in that range. You'll need to call me, at your leisure, to get details about where this was found. Exciting find for me.

Lol, find by proxy! Nice ! Ya that's always a big clue when your "washer" has a square hole!
Good thing you saw it before it ended up in the junk pile!
Good that you were able to get out and hunt. We would need a back hoe now.
GL & HH!

Hilarious. :laughing7: Congrats on the Chinese coin. I had the same thing happen to me last week. I thought I had dug a washer, and then I saw the square hole and knew it was an Asian coin. Mine is pretty worn too.
