What is the language in the bill as passed. Looks like the same as what started out in the original.

Click on the link above & then substitute. Looks to me the only difference, the new ARCHIE will have to do everything instead of the bill saying it's law

I would suggest an "open lands and recreation act" such as we have in Illinois. It protects open lands usage for those outdoor enthusiasts who do everything from snowmobiling to rock climbing. Virginians might consider forming a coalition of groups who engage in outdoor activities and don't like the "designated" hobbies and recreation mindset.

don't know yet. Alot depends on the New ARCHIE, once hes's in office & decides What lands are off limits to you. all he has to do is say , there "may" be somithing Historical there.

Practical level

We got rid of the changes to the VA laws to make detecting illegal.

The position for the archaeologists was to support enforcement of all this and they stlill have it. He or she will try to get the laws passed again. He or she is also the point of contact for trying to get group looting, looting stopped and a more effecient system of desginating sites as protected, ensuring the already designated sites are protected, etc ... In other words the point person to get detecting outlawed or very restricted.

They will try to encourage cities and counties to outlaw detecting in parks. Yes. But no, not yet.
