After the last few months of getting back into the hobby, I have come home mostly empty handed other than pounds of junk and a few "tweens" pennies and dimes. I've come full circle to the first ghost town that I learned to detect on. I pounded this place hard for years until it didn't produce much of anything... then moved on.
Anyways, I spent 3 hours there today and used only my M6. I turned the discrimination to zero and really listened to the tones. Surprisingly I got 2 wheats, a piece of silver spoon and memorial, proving that no site is truly hunted out. Then I got a perfect zinc penny signal and dug this at less than 2 inches. I just can't believe I left this behind years ago.
This is actually my second 1909s indian. The other was several years ago and in much better condition. I'm still absolutely thrilled to be lucky enough to get another one. My local coin dealer said it's a $300 to $400 coin even in this condition.
I'll definitely be going back.
