Detecting on an abandoned cart path and farmers field in the woods. No coins though, and still no silver with the E-trac:icon_scratch:

I got a fever! And the only prescription, is more cowbell!
Not the typical shape I think of when I picture a cowbell, but it sure is a nice find all the same!

I agree with Iron Horse.
Having grew up on a farm cow bells (in this country, not switzerland..etc.) are typically rectangluar at the opening.
That said it surely could have been used on a cow. horse or sleigh.

As far as silver, you can't find what isn't there, but there is old stuff there. BTW I like those bells, have only found a couple that were not broke, and one of those has a small piece missing. I also have the clapper to one of them.

I like the bell. They're always fun to dig up. Looks like you've got half of a Victorian era sash buckle there as well. Nice finds.

The bell is way too small for a cow bell, a cow's motion wouldn't make it ring, and if it did one couldn't hear it from very far away. It is a sweet little bell, and the other item looks like a half of a lady's sash buckle from the early 1900s. Both are pretty cool to find.

I was informed that it's most likely a goat bell in the what is it section. The relics do keep the hunt interesting but it's been so long since I've found that sweet sweet silver:BangHead:
