uploadfromtaptalk1400458194990.jpg well today was a good day I got my vary first 2cent piece what a find I haven't really tried to clean it couse I don't want to damage it I have a habit of doing so. The back of it is in good shape also but vary dirty uploadfromtaptalk1400458544190.jpg I can't seem to pull an accurate date but when wet I see 1865 well I believe I see a 5 anyways awesome find I also got a new buckle for my collection I think is a larg shoe buckle uploadfromtaptalk1400459057824.jpg and a bunch more odds an ends on a different hunt earlier I got this beautiful merc 1935 plain uploadfromtaptalk1400459218049.jpg after that I found this broach I didn't even have to dig awesome service find uploadfromtaptalk1400459364266.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1400459386782.jpg grapes I believe we'll that was my Sunday I hope you enjoy the finds all comments and suggestions are highly appreciated thank you and happy hunting

Great finds! Love those 2 centers and likely an 1865 as that and the 64 had the most minted. Can you please show a close up of the buckle? That style may quite old and a great find. Hard to tell from the in situ pic though

Boiling peroxide is the best cleaning method for dirty coppers. It leaves the patina and removes all the stubborn dirt. Its always my preferred cleaning method. Read into it a little bit :)

HD thanks for the pic. There's a fantastic free shoe buckle dating pdf download online by Ross Whitehead. If you punch in his name and buckles it will come up.

Have you tried adding just a little Oxy Clean white crystal/grains cleaner to the boiling peroxide??

I quit buying the peroxide and just boil water and add the oxyclean.
