This probably wins the award for the most beat up GW button out there !! This was found in my good friends civil war shop in Stafford,Virginia. He has buckets full of flat buttons that I go through for the past 2 years just to see if i can spot rare button (which I have yet to come across) someone brought him a pile of flat buttons the other week and i went thru them just like I always do and spotted it. After 2 years and 1000s of flat buttons - found a GW Inaugural button. Tough to make out - BUT it's there!!!

3rd photo of course is a prestige one of which i could only wish of finding.. Oh wait.... Well I guess my wish kinda came true even though it's the most beatup GW button of em all :)

Also I haven't been around much here on TN lately, I sell and build in-ground swimming pools and I have been beyond busy with 70+ hour work weeks. I will be around more in the fall, I do still get out digging mostly one day a week now. Look forward to the cooler weather..

Congrats on having good eyes to spot that beauty! :occasion14:
I'd say that's about as close to 'finding a GW Button' as most of us will ever get!

You got one all right. Surprising the original digger didn't recognize it, because it looks like he took the trouble to straighten a bend (unless you did that).

Now the next step is to go dig one yourself
