Two days of detecting the beach here in Fort Walton Beach has netted me three quarters, four dimes, four pennies, and a nice fishing lure.

I'd almost give up after that but there's always that gold or silver ring waiting for ya great hunting and keep at it:)

You should check out Crab Island, just East of you, near the East Pass bridge in Destin. There are always TONS of people out there partying in boats on the water just off the shore. Bet there's much to be found there.
