I spent last weekend in Chicago at a gathering called DETECT-A-PALOOZA 2014 and thought I'd share some of the finds and footage of the gathering. Thanks for looking and HH!

Sounds like a way cool event! Who organizes it?

It's a small sort of gathering where a few hunters can get together and meet each other, put faces to names, share stories and enjoy finds that each other has made. There were roughly 20-30 and this was was primarily organized by Chicago Ron and Gretchen as well as a couple of others. No prizes, no seeded hunting...just a gathering of like minded enthusiasts.

First day was basically around 6 of us with 20-30 for a bit the second day and 6 of us the last day.

The bottle that Ryan found looks like a geo cache of sorts, especially since it had all of those items within.

Could be a possibility. The day the bottle had been found we were on the beach, in the water, and in the dirt. We were removing any glass items especially from the beach and water to prevent anyone from being injured from broken glass. The bottle was in the water on the bottom about waist deep if I remember right.
