Hey everyone, first off I want to post my new blog which I'll be using to tell stories of all my metal detecting outings..

Most of the hunts took place at my grandparent's farm which I have found some beautiful old coins at in the past. Nobody knows how old the house was, but I have found 6 coins from the mid-1800s, oldest being 1845.

I was REALLY excited to hit the river where it runs through one of the early 1800s towns that I detected in, but was super bummed to find out that the bottom is mud and the water is completely brown. It's probably detectable, but not my cup of tea. I like clear water with sandy/rocky bottoms.

I was thinking you were talking about indian burial mounds, but then today I realized you were probably talking about those giant ant hills lol!
