strange hunt without metal detector, 1855 penny in tree?

So as much as I hate seeing a tree get chopped or uprooted this one gave a gift. So after the recent storms and first sunny not hot day, I trekked back to my 19 c. Site at home and just looked around for arrow heads (too muddy to dig) when I noticed this big big oak tree down so I moved some of the broken branches out of the way and into a pile when I notice a coin on the ground after moved branches, in such beautiful condition.

Maybe you have a wish tree there KLclark.Look carefully.Sometimes the tree had a forked trunk with a hole in the center of the fork and people would put coins in the hole to make a wish.Theres a lot of variations.
