I actually found this ring on a short hunt yesterday. This is an example of what not to do. It was bent when I got it out of the hole and I tried to squeeze it back to round. I put just a small bit of pressure and it snapped. Oh well, I hope it wasn't really old and valuable.



Went to a local school today and hit a small area near a tot lot.

Found my first Bahamian penny. Not old, but still interesting to find around here.


Found this little junker.


Also found this ring. It has .925 on it, but I'm not convinced it's really silver.




Found this little pendant basically on top of the ground. Has no markings and I don't think it's silver.




Got a solid 86 signal and as I was brushing away the dirt in the hole I spotted what I hoped was silver, and it was. A St. Christopher silver pendant. Marked as Creed Sterling.




Last up is a cool homemade ring out of a Buffalo nickel. I learned from my ring find yesterday to not try to bend it back into shape.

Those are all cool finds and you found them. Give yourself some credit.

Don't assume anything on that silver ring until you get it checked out. It looks real to me based on the pic. I like it.
That buffalo ring is awesome as well, not to mention the silver St. Christopher medal.

Wow! Dunno how many hours you put in, but you sure got lots of results! The possibly silver one looks like silver to me. Like you, I've busted a couple items trying to straighten them out, but found I couldn't wind time backwards, lol. Am more careful these days. Have Fun! Andi

Thanks for the kind words. The day started off slow at my first spot so I ended up stopping at this school on my way home. I was there about 2 hours and all of the items where found in an area that is about 30 yards by 20 yards. I'll probably go back tomorrow.

The reason I said "for me" is some of the things I see posted here are AMAZING!

Spectacular day. What a unique buffalo ring! That .925 in question looks legit to me. Just has a bit of tarnishing, no biggie. The pendant looks like it has something scrolled on the back, above the 'creed' marking. Does that say "I Love You"?

Yeah, I'm with everyone else, those are grade A finds right there. First time I ever seen a rare Buffalo ring before, sweet!

That ring is definitely silver too.
