First substantial gold

Was out yesterday at a new sight. Searching near the foundation of a 19th century home that burned in 1972. Was finding the usual items like horseshoes, a couple of wheaties and misc. farm implements when the AT Pro returned a good strong signal that I really hadn't heard before. Almost passed it by as trash but the strength of the signal just wouldn't let me write it off. Anyway, I dug the target and, lo and behold, it was a rather large 18K gold wedding band. After cleaning it up a bit, I could read the inscription "With this we pledge" and a couple of sets of initials. The property is owned by an elderly lady so I'm going to show it to her to see if she recognizes the ring or the initials. If its an heirloom of it she knows who it may have belonged to, I certainly want to see it in the right hands.

Sweet, my first was an 18K wedding band with no info and the property owner has lived there for 70 years and had no memory of anyone ever losing a ring(she has hers!). Good luck with the follow-up.

bounced around the high 70's but not the partial growl I sometimes get with foil or other such materials.
