Out today with Ironhorse and the plan came together. Did lots of digging, and it's been a long time since I dug 12 old coins in a day. They're pretty rough, but it was a fun day out. Also got a nice little sling buckle.

Man, what a boatload of coppers IP! Don't believe I've ever seen anyone post that many from a single hunt outside of a cache. Pretty incredible day in my book.

Not sure. It's certainly nothing close to my large musket sling buckle, but does seem to be some type of sling buckle, and is fairly old.

Too cool...have you guys got back to look for more?

No, chances are we won't return until the Spring. But there is two more sites there.... one a couple fields away, and another that I believe is in the woods. I have a ton of places marked right now from several hours of research, so every day out will be about hitting somewhere new. I actually believe I'll have many left over when the season ends. I've changed my methods recently from shooting for the oldest, to totally dissecting areas and hitting every thing that's there.(1820s-1850s mostly) There's one river I did which we had pretty much given up on feeling like we were everywhere, and I marked 20 sites in 20 minutes! On average we only get out once a week and last time was basically just that one field... and I literally have at least 40 I want to walk! :headbang: So with maybe 6 weeks left I can't see us covering them, and as I said I will be adding to the list and moving the better ideas to the top... and as you can see the last hunt those fields immediately went up, and it actually worked.
