[Iron Patch]

Set my alarm for 7:55 and Ironhorse showed up at 8:55, we left at 9:05. We stopped for our usual coffee and I paid with a $5, and said to give me all nickels for change. We then drove 5 miles to the site, left the car at 9:25, and walked 55 paces to the site. I then said "I hate you Abe" 5 times, turned on the detector to find my Pine Tree Shilling... and I did get a tree coin, but not the one I wanted! So I said this is stupid 5 times, and went and dug a cannonball instead... and that was my day.

Hmmmm it had to be "I hate Abe"? I do not remember any of that being part of the process lol. Well I must say 5 is a far cry from 8 those finds do not suck. And that tree coin is in very nice shape. And a cannonball, very cool indeed. Maybe you should have 3 more kids after this one. Then you'll really be into something good lol.

Dug the ball at the militia site. Was quite a surprise because signals are tough, but there was no mistaking it, and by the sound I knew what to expect in the hole. The funny part is I got more of a rush of what sounded like a large brass button about an hour later.... just tells you what was in my mind... a fairly sure cannon ball hit, or just a chance at a button, and I was more fired up about the button signal. It did end up being a button, but just a plain one. I do believe my little pewter in the pile is military, but too far gone.

I think we may try again sometime soon. I see nothing in the near future for weather that would stop us.
