Hello all! I got out with a couple friends yesterday & we stumbled onto a great colonial site. I found the knee buckle about a foot down & it was on from there. I found another English bullion weight with a lion mark on top of the ground! The first one I found was a 4 pennyweight, this is 3 (hence the 3 dots). This was also a different site from the first. I also found some nice buttons, a lot of lead & some mystery items (any help appreciated!)

My buddy found the cut 8 reale pillar dollar I included (amazing find!) He also found the copper Spanish cob. I'm posting with the hope that someone can help ID & give a date range. I also included an image of a beautiful set of silver colonial cufflinks my other buddy found.

It was a beautiful day to go find some relics & hang out with some good friends. It was awesome to stumble on an undiscovered site & save some history. Thanks for looking & HH!

Sweet hunt! Yu guys really nailed the finds today for sure. Liking the silver cufflinks along with cut silver. The weight is a choice find, along with the other relics.

The one find kind of reminded me of a seal, but a button or fob is there also.:icon_scratch:

Holy crap bud where do I start. The cuff links are my favorite. They're incredible. The buckles are amazing and the bullion weight is super cool. What a site that is. That "copper cob" is very interesting indeed. The Spanish silver is obviously a GREAT find. Wow what a great day buudy

What a site and killer finds. My passion is pumping now. In NC to boot. Always great Colonial potential. Wow!!!! Amazing cufflinks. Amazing relics!

If you don't mind sharing, was the site a field and along a waterway?

It was actually in South Carolina. It was just a random field. There is a lot of history in the area so it wasn't a complete shot in the dark but definitely a pleasant surprise. I'd also like to ad that the coins & cufflinks are my buddies finds. For some reason (although I uploaded them last) treasurenet put them first lol

Very nice finds.

The thing with the flower is the top part of a horse harness rein guide.

The 'ring things', we call them, probably had lots of uses over thousands of years (we get Roman ones, as well as medieval etc...). Yours is probably a horse harness ring circa 18th C. The are often bronze, but the copper-alloy varies.

The button or fob had a iron fittment missing, maybe a screw thread. Not sure on its function.

Wow, I just had to view this thread again. Great Colonial relic madness. I always love seeing intact cufflinks being pulled from fields. Gives me hope since all I hunt are fields.

You guys had a great day Josh. Some nice quality finds for sure. Have you had any luck ID'ing that copper coin? I sent your pics to my friend but haven't heard back yet. I'll let you know when I do.
