Still Cast Iron Bank

This was from my father's childhood items. He was born in 1923. It looks like it is original but I need help identifying it. I've seen many "original" General Pershing banks but they don't look like this one. Inside you can see how filthy it is. I haven't even wiped it off anywhere so its condition is perfectly untouched. Can anyone help me? I hope my pictures show up. If you need any more please let me know. Thanks.

Wow ! That is a nice looking antique - Should be plenty of info online about authenticity/value . I know generally speaking that
these iron banks are hugely collectible - and if the paint and surfaces are original, so much the better !

This is why I really need the help of all you viewers. Do you believe that it is original and from the WWI era? I don't see any that are just like this one. Thanks for all your help out there.

Interesting. Some years ago I found detecting what appears to be the same bank but instead of Pershing the one I found depicted Eisenhower. Of course mine is missing the head but exactly the same bust as yours with Eisenhower wearing his generals Ike jacket and says Eisenhower below exactly like your bank. Maybe there was a series of these banks made depicting different generals. ? Although Pershing was WW1 and Ike was WW2.

I collected still banks for a while. This one is great, although I have never seen one painted in 'full color', so I wonder if someone painted it after purchase. I have seen two versions, one being bronze electroplate, and the other being a copper finish. Made by the Grey Iron Casting Co., patented in 1918. According to Moore's "Penny Bank Book', they are listed as common. Typical value usually runs around 50 - 75 bucks, but if this is a factory paint job, I would personally estimate it could bring as high as 150, but that is just my opinion. Others may disagree.

Agreed! ( ....and I'd bet money that paint is original!!)

Thank you so much for all the help. I GUARANTEE that NO ONE painted or did anything to this after it was purchased. My father couldn't even paint a wall in the house much less paint this. Ha I know it has just been stored in a drawer for as long as he owned it. I really would sell it for $500 if anyone wants it. I'm new to this site so i don't know if there is a place where people can sell things. If so, that would be very nice. Please let me know if there is. Anyone interested in buying it can let me know.
