I found this in my only outing in Feb. Today I was able to identify it after revealing the back mark. I saw several variety's and patterns on the net but could not find this specific pattern. Do you guys think "Floral" describes it or do you see something different?

B & Burnham Extra. Benedict & Burnham company was founded in 1812 and later became the Waterbury Company. Still in business today! This button was manufactured during what now is considered the Golden Age of Gilt 1830s-1840s. This Benedict & Burnham Gold Gilted Button is said to be between 1834-1843. What a beautiful Floral button still holding most of the Gold Gilting 170 plus years later.

If anyone has seen this design please let me know thanks, Bill

It was called the Golden Age for a reason, if you think you can get an exact match for the myriad of patterns they produced at the time, you in for a long hunt, specially if you think your get a google hit (although if your good at winning the lotto, you got a chance). You have all the info you need, its a pretty looking thing - congrats

But to answer your question, it has a 'filigree' look/pattern to it, but not strickly a filigree construction.
