Stud looking item with anchor symbol. Need id help!

Found this odd piece that has an anchor in it in the same area i found a large copper coin and a few tombac buttons. No idea what it is. Thanks for any input!

It looks like an unused copper Leather Rivet, probably intended for making/repairing horse-tack or saddles.
