I was headed to a old homesite in the woods this morning, but stopped by a site in town to check out the 4.5" sniper I bought for the AT Pro here a while ago. Never had used it before and wanted to see how it performed at a site I hit hard last year. Some really trashy areas here, and some metal fencing that the stock coil will drown anything else out. And some large trees I wanted to get closer too. Started out in the trees and picked up a Buff pretty quick, a few clad coins there and then moved to the fenced area. A war nic and another Buff appeared pretty quick. Found a '48d Rosie a bit later and just a few minutes later got another high tone and seen a Merc right on top of the ground. Then another war nic. A few pieces of clad here and there and hit a really trashy area where I got a mixed tone signal and went down to dig it, and right on top of the ground was a half dime. Kept going for about another hour but nothing interesting was popping up, I was soaking wet and muddy and ready to get home. Didn't clean the half dime much, she is a 1840o without drapery. VG condition with a few scratches, rust stained so I guess it washed out from underneath some iron. Not bad for a 4 1/2 hour hunt. Going to reward myself with a very good meal, somewhere.

Congrats on the AWESOME hunt. I'd attack that site in a grid pattern. I would not stop until I completely hit it in 3 different directions.

I would suggest a steak house for dinner after that hunt.

I believe you definitely deserve a treat, whatever you choose. I usually go splurge on a nice silver coin at a shop when I have had a good day. Fortunately, for my wallet, I don't have a lot of good days lol! Awesome hunt. Very hopeful your return is as good for you.

WTG on the half dime and the other silver, so the sniper coil performed pretty good around the old fencing.

Well, I hit the site pretty hard last year and signals are hard to find at all. This area is really tough to grid as its somewhere around a 20 degree slope. However, just about everything I found was right near the fence, about a 18 inch wide are that I kept getting to much interference using the stock coil. So I'll hit it again, I'm sure there is something left, but hard to actually grid.

Pretty good. As long as I went slow, I could get within about 4-6 inches with no problem. Overall, I loved how the coil performed. Of course, results make me love it.
