Finds with my 6yr old daughter

Cold and windy, but my girl wanted to go detecting anyway. There is not much to find near our house, I have detected everything to death. Takes hours to find anything, usually nothing.

The other night I scattered 11 coins in a 40x40 area so she could have the experience of finding something without getting bored. She found 9 them all on her own! She is excited about knowing what to listen for. It was a short and sweet hunt.

Nice and sweet. It's funny what satisfies us detectorists in lieu of hunting for real. A child hunt is one. Satisfaction for me today was an 1750 house door knock with my two kids and getting a new permission.

Cjon- my mom always told me that "when a kid becomes a teenager, it's like they take their brain out of their head, put it on a shelf, and don't get it back in until they are 20." I'm sure he will have fond memories of detecting with you, and he will probably want to do it with you again in the future.

My fav quote about this is from mark Twain. He reportedly said, "When a child turns 13, you should nail him in a rain barrel and feed him through the knothole. When he turns 16, you should nail up the knothole." As a dad of three (now) grown daughters . . . well done!

When I first took the my boys shed hunting I'd plant a few sheds for them or would direct them towards a fresh one I spotted.
