I went out today to a small field I got permission for a few years ago where I found a King William and a 1/2 Real. I thought we had painted this field and that there was nothing left, but I was so glad I was wrong. Found this nice CT copper, 1786 -- in nice shape. Found with the trusty T2. Not sure of the type and any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's what's referred to as a Mailed Bust Facing Left. At first glance the variety looks like a M.5.9-B.1 although I didn't spend much time looking. Maybe someone else can confirm. Here's mine for comparison.

Nice detail on that ct. The T2s killed it the last few days. I know of 3 of us that nailed some killer early finds. Congrats

Sweet Conneticut!!

There must be something with the Conneticut coppers to keep such nice detail after laying in the ground for 200 plus years. Lol
I just found one myself and out of all my old coppers I've got, this one is in the best shape out of all of them.

Mine was my first state copper found and found mine in Maryland.

Congrats on a Sweet find!!
