Been away from detecting for several years. Got some new batteries for my Fisher ID Edge and set out for the volley ball court at the park where 2 months ago dumped tons of new sand and it is now about 8" deep.
after ground balancing and adjusting the settings to avoid the trash I set off going parallel to the net. Within 5 feet got a sold silver signal.

found this item. It looked like the real deal. Gold and diamonds. Got real jazzed. But upon closer inspection at home it is a fake. Silver clad gold made in china marked 925 and the area on top that appeared to be small diamonds is just the silver crafted and polished to look like lots of small diamonds.

But proves jewelry does slip off at volley ball courts. Found a clad penny also. 9 grams worth about $4.00 at most for melt value.

You need to dig the junk to get the treasure pal ! Gold rings read all over the conductive scale :BangHead:

At least you got some silver out of it, so not a bad hunt.
