I am a coin shooter at heart and that is what makes me happiest.
But, every now and then, I get a bit bored of clad & modern. I just
have to go dig something old now and again.

It is a different style of hunting then I'm used to and it makes me
appreciate the true relic hunters out there!

And since I don't do relics very often, feel free to identify as you recognize anything!

(poor Blingie! ;) )

First thing I need to do is to get a bigger "pouch" when I go relic hunting! LOL

A funny thing. Of all that metal, the only things that are magnetic are
the rein guide, the huge iron piece, the nail & the screw in the doorknob.

The spoon is kind of strange, it must have something in it's make up that's magnetic
as it is just barely attracted to a magnet.

A door hinge from 1545. ;) LOL

2015 (539).jpg

Fishy always seems happy, doesn't he. :)

2015 (540).jpg

Notice? Not a coin - one! :)

But, I did manage something rather interesting, to me anyway.

Afraid I don't know my Captain's bars either. :dontknow:

Military? Fire? Police?

Thanks for peeking!

Some days are like that. Deep down in your soul you go to a site hoping to pull and old coin, and all you get are relics. Happens to all of us. Atleast you got out and swung the coil and pulled some things to post about. You've added to your key count to.

Nothing wrong with a little change now and then, makes you appreciate things more. I think Blingie is headed for the key!
Nice array of relics! Congrats!

My keyboard keeps disappearing after every word, ????

Thanks! Yeah, it was a relic day, but at least it was intentional. I went to a place
I knew would be holding them.

You really shouldn't be typing without your glasses milady. ;)

Really curious about those captain's bars. This is an old place.

Nice finds. Once you get the relics cleaned out the coins my show up. Personally I like to dig relics, they can tell a story of the property and people that where once there. Either way it's good to mix it up. Keeps us sharp

Lol! The problem is I have them on, and weird stuff keeps happening...time for a glasses up-grade I guess.

It would be neat to put a name to the captains bars.

A name!?! Yeah, that would be wonderful! But I was having enough trouble just pinning down the age! LOL

It seems like they're WW1 era.

Thanks!

Oh, don't worry. Blingie's just not very high on relics. Can't wear 'em and they mostly don't shine. You can see him, in the first pic. He's just hanging waaaay back. Not interested! ;)

I thought the same but, take a close look at the "red dot" on the white yoyo, look familiar? And then there is the master of camaphlodge in the first pic top right hand corner, AKA- the Blingester! They both seem to be keeping a low profile.

Yep, but if you look at the close up of the doorknob, you can see Fishy is still smiling. So easy to please! ;)

Not so the Blingster. ;)
