Hello All. Hunted a c.1920's homes site today, all long gone now. I've dug this site many times...concentrated low and slow mostly in a previously productive area.

Managed some misc hardware, a play coin, 2 Wheaties, a Chevy hub cap, and a great Cracker Jack toy...my first.

Found the CJ toy on the internet, it's a Tootsie and dates from 1940...there was an engine and a caboose also available as box prizes. They made stuff good back then, my find is 65-YRs old...I doubt a happy meal toy could last that long in the elements.

Thanks for the view, good luck, and have good T-Bird day. C9

I have found maybe a half dozen Cracker Jack prizes, but the one you found is at the top of the list. Congrats on a great score.

Congrats on a great hunt.
That Cracker Jack toy is awesome.

The ones they make today are complete junk like stickers and other paper products that wouldn't last 5 minutes underground. Probably come from China.

The train car actually is not a Cracker Jack prize but part of a pre-war train set made by Tootsietoy. It's one of the harder to find cars as not many were made.

Hello wpsgta1000. Thanks for the reply...I dug deeper and you are correct. I assumed you had to get each car in a box but this toy was a cooperative effort between Tootsie Toy and Cracker Jacks... HH C9
