Another large cent

I found my 3rd Large cent today along with a small flat button.
but this LC is different. instead of the stars around the top is says Liberty.
also the face on the coin is facing towards the right instead of the left like my other two.
the date is gone. my other two are 1822. but i have no idea how old this one is.
any info would be great!!!

also, i'm pretty sure this button is civil war error, but where on the uniform would it be used?
with the small size im guessing a cuff or shirt?

See if you can hold the coun in your hand and take a pic.
It looks like a liberty cap.
Does it seem thicker then your others. Going to need better pics.

It is a Draped Bust, and with a bit of cleaning the crud off in date area, should be able to get it, at least whether it is a 1700s one or 1800s.

thanks. it is a hair thicker than the others. that was one of the first things i noticed.
and it does say Liberty at the top.

I can also see why it is called a draped bust.

after a little cleaning i can barely make out the first two.
i can see 17 then either a 0 or a 8. not sure really

The third number I believe can only be a 9. As in 179?

Congrats on digging that LC. I am with Vino on this one. It's a Liberty Cap Large Cent. I have no idea whast date yours is, just posted these pics so you can see the reverse side is that of the Liberty Cap and not the Draped Bust.



That one is still on my list.

Not seeing it as a Liberty Cap, but as a Draped Bust, certainly is! If you see a 17 then the last digit as an 8, then it's probably 1798! The 1799s are pretty rare, so it's most likely not that date.

Digger looking through a mag. glass i can see that she has a ribbon in her hair.
but it does not reach out into the coin like the one you posted. but the lady does look the same.
now the back of the coin is identical to the one you posted

It is not even a question if it is not a Draped Bust, you can see the draped bust in the photo, Liberty Caps are entirely different....Plus no Liberty Cap pole, plus no Cap. Shape of bust different.........

looks like the bell on the back has a 1 in the center.
the date is really bugging me. looks like the last two digits is 05. but really hard to see
