What I thought was a washer turned out to be a large cent that had a nail passed through it. This two-hour hunt included my 2nd seated dime in the past two weeks, a bale seal, flat button, and a silver ring.

Nice finds McDig. I have found a few of those Large Cents with the square holes. They loved to use those things as washers/spacers back in the day.

MAN... That's a great spot you have going. So, a few months ago I posted a large cent with a square hole in it too.... I bet we have similar aged sites!

You HAVE to keep going back. That seated dime is beautiful...(drool)

Good work ol' chap!!

Thanks mack. I will head back to the little 'hot spot' and do a more thorough search.

Thanks mack. I will head back to the little 'hot spot' and do a more thorough search.

So many times I have gone back to sites that I was CERTAIN I had combed and cleaned... and I find a BIG coin:dontknow:

I always pretend that I'm riding a horse, and I have to park off to the side of a site (like a church)... I once found a spill way off to the side of a site (that no one thought to detect).

Good Luck!
