Bergie and I went to a new Rev. War era site today and spent the whole day digging a ton of signals. We had three really good coins and several other interesting finds. I got my first King George III -- can't get a date off it (photo below). Bergie got this 1835 Large Cent and 1864 2 Cent piece, both in good shape (except he scratched the back a little).

It is a typical counterfeit KGIII Halfpenny, it is not close to a KGI , look at where GEORGIVS is on yours versus the website photo. Not close at all, Look at the quality of the letters on yours, inferior, like a lot of the counterfeits were.
Attached is one of my KGI coppers and a KGIII counterfeit, which by the way of 72 found KGIII by me, my son, and a friend, every one of them is not a regal copper. :)

I believe the place where most of the counterfeits were made is right near GoldFevers house....Machlins mills...I have found a few myself... Best thing is the counterfeits are worth generally more money from what i remember... GJ
