Well I was at work and got to thinking about those cannonballs I found the other day and had the sudden urge to get out digging for 2 hours... Well it was a good choice! Managed 3 more cannonballs, 14 musket balls and a Geo II coin...Looking at putting an 8 hour day in digging tomorrow..stay tuned...

Thanks...you are right..a lot of research by myself and hunthicks...plus our other detecting buddy has the best permission track record I have ever seen, eventually I will write a story in how he does it, i haven't mastered it yet but doing better myself...so with that and a lot of luck we do quite well...
I will add too that there is nothing wrong with your hunting skills either...great posts..

Wish I didn't have so much work to do! Given the location, I'm guessing there is a lot more to come from that site yet, still targets spread across the site. I was looking at it on google earth and there's still a lot of wooded area around the edges that could be holding the goodies that we haven't hit much either!
