Got up early and headed to some strips I had been eyeballing. I was swinging by 6:40. I got a 1-49 signal about 10 minutes in, a Franklin half! I poked around a little longer and got some memorials and a Tootsie truck but people were starting to mill about and I didn't want a curbstrip horror story like I hear about so I headed over to a close by "pounded" park. Dug a 40' merc! It wasn't a iffy sound or anything, and just about 3.5"s down. Then after lunch I came back and hit a 43' war nickel, again at only about 3"s or so. Nobody must have hit this part of the park very well because any machine could have found these coins, no CTX voodoo required. I also got a couple of wheats and some clad. It was also nice not having to go shrieking back to the truck when it started raining like I had to do with the Etrac. I ran in 50 tones, high trash, manual sense @ 27. Great day and I'm beat, gonna eat Cheetos and watch Netflix in my underwear now. Thanks for looking and HH! bigbenpalm.jpg cleansiler.jpg dirtyben.jpg dirtymerc.jpg park.jpg

A residential area with some older houses.

I am new to curb strip hunting. Is the idea of it: the curb strip is government property, so you do not have to ask permission? Or am I way off here?

I treat curb strips in front of dwellings as the occupants property, others do not. The strips that are tore up do to road repair or are on public lands are fair game. I pulled my only BF from one of those sites.

Congrats on pulling those keepers. :occasion14:Seems to me that the park requires more hunts if the coins are that shallow.
