I think you summed up what it probably is in your second to last sentence :tongue3:
Maybe it's an owl pellet.

It appears to be a lava bomb or a piece of obsidian.

I have found similar lumps on my lawn...

The trick is to pick it up by the clean end...

Lastly, don't be chewing yur finger nails...

It's not a Thunder Egg (a geode or lava bomb)...they are heavy, although some have solid crystal centers...

If you can break it in half with your hands, it ain't a rock. See what a dog thinks of it.

It could very well be lava rock. Obsidian is felsic lava but to become obsidian it has to cool quickly with no moisture and very little crystal growth. Let us know when you find out for sure what it is.

Hey Chabonik, what's that? Looks like D. S. :laughing7:
Pretty sure it was a team effort by those two. We used to crack up listening to Cheech & Chong albums in the mid 70s

My guess, I think it's one of those toy snake things you light on fire and watch it uncoil. Probably old so it crusted into a rock like substance. Here is a pic to jog everyone's memory. image.jpeg
