Thank you everyone =) I guess my mind is going back to the couple of videos I saw not long ago of people pulling them and they looked worn but not like this color. I should bonk myself on the head though, and remember how my Indian Heads are so corroded they almost look like nothing. Its funny, where I found this has only given me one other coin and it too was a nickel, albeit 1964 I think it was. So when I got this and saw the shape I just went..another one? Didnt know it was what it was until I ran water over it at home then went =D

Congrats! I have only found one, but it was early in my MD days so it was a special coin for me.

Some (me included) use triple "0" steel wool and dish soap to clean these up. Some use a Brillo pad. If you have a nickel with some decent detail, this can bring it out even more, but tends to turn it a pinkish color. Just remember - any abrasive cleaning can end up doing more damage than good, so it's a matter of your personal risk appetite. If it's not a key date, I tend to go for it; but not until I take some good photos for the album! This one was not in much better shape than yours when I first found it.

Not bad at all. The one I found last year was a lot worse for wear than yours. Congrats

Nice find-- nothing wrong with it at all. Nice clear date! Last V I found, the date was so toasted that it took me a few days to read it (only found 3 V's total).
