These are from a couple of hunts this month. Gold has been hard to come by on a regular basis but I really do love finding old pieces of history on the beach as well. Usually the buttons don't do so well after 200+ years of washing about the ocean/beach but every once in a while a couple will show up looking really good with nice detail (at least they don't have multiple plow point strikes from being in a farm field!).

The pewter one somehow got bent into a concave shape but you can still see the anchor. It is marked on the back and I think I see part of the word "covenant"? , hoping olive oil and light picking may help with that. I believe it is a British Royal Marines Enlisted Man's Coat, 1769 - 1782. I am including a photo of what I think it should look like. Anyone who knows more on it please chime in!

The brass anchor buttons give a good example of "good" and "beach fresh". Both I believe are 1774 to mid 1800's British Royal Navy Anchor Cuff-Vest buttons. The 3rd button is a little bit larger but can't make out any detail or designs. All are brass, 2 have wire loops intact. The 2 small coins are from the Netherlands. One is a 1950 dime other is either a 1 or 5 cent piece but can't see the date on back. Can't be older than 1950 or newer than 1980 based on the name and face that appear on the coins.
