??? cast brass piece is complete, lots of details___what the *%#@ could it have been???. IMG_3142.JPG IMG_3143.JPG IMG_3144.JPG IMG_3145.JPG IMG_3146.JPG the "rock" weighs 8.46 ounces, roughly 1 3/4" X 1 1/2" trapezoidal shape. the white areas are not soft like lead, not magnetic. the vast amount of "hot rocks" and other iron type hits that are not iron lead me to think this is a possible strewn field for an asteroid that impacted near Shandaken, NY leaving a massive crater in the Catskill Mts. 25 miles northwest of the farm. will contact a local geologist on this sample. no way this is "slag". did get a copper Lincoln and about 50 cans plus about 100 hits of can slaw from this :BangHead: "cafeteria":BangHead: field

The cast piece on top looks like it may have been on a headstone, with a picture in the round piece. Looks like the other "arm" of the decoration is missing.

no cemeteries in the area, the piece is not broken. FMERG thinks the rock is lead ore ???
