Went back to the Rev War site where I found the coin weight a few days ago and struck silver! A pretty worn Carolus III half reale (178-). It's turning out to be a pretty promising site and although it has been hunted before, good signals are still there! Also found a weird copper piece. Help me ID it please! Here's the pictures. Enjoy!

Looks like Brass to me, some kind of furniture hardware, but haven't got a positive ID.

A Spanish silver is one of the few coins that you can call awesome even when its worn. Great find.

Sweet silver. The other item might be part of the butt end of an old flintlock pistol.

Nice silver, no idea about the mystery piece but it looks like it could be period.

Congrats on the Spanish Silver find! I was thinking like relic lover in that the (copper) probably Brass piece is part of the butt end of a flintlock pistol. Also, there are a few flintlock rifles from the Colonial times that might had a buttplate from which the piece came from (i.e. the top where it goes up over the top of the butt portion of the stock).
