saltwater hunt on Monday
first hour I had 2 old pulltabs - that's it - moved far out to an area I never hit - its off the regular beach - mainly fishing area
got a piece of lead boat patch -prob from 1800s - then an older lead jig head - so knew I had not been there
got a small piece of silver bracelet chain - looked around for the rest - not found
got a nice signal and thought it might be a sinker - was shocked to see old gold ring in bottom of my scoop
just then a guy on a jet ski pulled up and told me I could not hunt there - should have challenged him - was not a life guard - just a private jetski renter
but did not want to bother - I moved to far right of beach which is mostly a fishing /wind surf area now - went way out again
finally got a thin silver dime so decided to grid in that area - got an older key -maybe form 50s-60s -so a good sign
walked out as far as I could and got a nice blast - looked in scoop and saw large black disc - walking half - nice
found a war nickel and a few other pieces of small silver and a colonial pewter button -
got chased in by tide coming in - but will have to try both these areas again

Very nice bunch of finds. That gold ring looks chunky.
Sometimes these Jet sky operators can get a little out of control, coming dangerously close to swimming areas. The operator of the Jet Ski may have done you a favor. Those Jet Skis don't have brakes.
Congrats on a really good hunt.

I have had boaters tell me I can't be where I am. I ignore everyone. Congrats on the silver and gold Casper. Hope you hit many more.

prob glass like those in class rings

Yep. I took all my rings to my jeweler today. Every old stone is glass. She said they never put real stones in men's rings back then. I do have a real bloodstone in one but the rubies and emeralds are fake.

THEN YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THEM COMING CLOSE ON PURPOSE OR OTHER CRAP
I will just have to wait for an early low and get in there before they do - they usually set up at 9am

Nice ring. I would have ignored him and stayed.
