I was able to get out this afternoon for a few hours at a permission that I recently got again. I hunted this mid 1800's farmhouse when I started metal detecting back in the early 70's but the technology has gotten much better since then. I'm also sure that there have been others that have hit this place over the years. I started my afternoon with the property owner telling me to keep an eye out for her daughter-in- law's gold wedding band that was lost some where on the property. I didn't find it today, but it forced me to dig many more signals than normal looking for it. I recovered a ton of trash. I did manage to find a small amount of clad, an 1898 Barber dime, a 1927 Mercury dime, a 1920 Buffalo nickel, 2 wheats 1930d and 1940 toasted, an old ladies compact, a nice crotal bell, and a really IMG_0377.JPG IMG_0388.JPG IMG_0387.JPG IMG_0386.JPG IMG_0385.JPG IMG_0384.JPG IMG_0383.JPG IMG_0382.JPG IMG_0381.JPG IMG_0380.JPG IMG_0379.JPG IMG_0378.JPG IMG_0376.JPG IMG_0390.JPG large iron buckle and ring. I'm not sure what they were used for, but I would guess for horses. I also found a dime that appears to have been flattened on a train track. It was as hot as I've ever seen it here, but I drank lots of water and had a good hunt. Happy hunting and keep on swinging. Thanks for looking. Sorry for the long rambling post.

I plan on hitting that same location until I can find the ring for the owner. Should also find some more keepers

The hunts are not always like that. Our area has more metal detecting people per square mile than anywhere, so it is hard to find a place that hasn't already been pounded.
Love to have a hunt like that. Congrats.

That's what I call an Awesome hunt!! Any chance that flattened coin could be a Rosie to give you a dime trifecta?
I've found a pile of flattened coppers but, only one flattened silver. Just enough detail to see it was a Rosie.
Congrats on a Sweet hunt and Good Luck finding that lost ring.

The edge of the flattened coin is reeded, so I scraped it a little and saw copper showing. It appears to be a clad dime.
