I got out for the first time in several weeks. We have a new permission with a house that was built in1890. Sadly, I didn't find much. A 1944 wheat cent in the first 10 minutes had me excited but it was a bust. I found a broken key with Chicago Lock and Co., and some other brass object. I think it might be some piece off of a horse bit??? 20160923_113939.jpg 20160923_114029.jpg I moved on to another new site that has been around since the mid 1800s and was a popular gathering site. I found 2 wheats a 1950 and the other I cannot make the date out. It's toasted. I found some modern clad and an earring, as well. Nothing really to show for a 6 hour hunt. LOL. 20160924_191841.jpg 20160924_191923.jpg

There are so many key date possibilities with Wheats-- I think they're great finds (I don't check the dates until I get home). They also give a good hint that 1) the site is likely an "old" site in terms of what you'll find, and 2) nobody has detected there yet.

Every hunt is a good hunt. Congratulations on the wheats. That is pretty much how my last two permissions went.

Sweet digs, I agree with Art concerning the snap clip swivel.
