"Do you feel lucky, punk?"

Early in today's hunt, I discovered another of these good luck charms; I probably have eight or ten but haven't found any for a while. Most are easy to interpret, this one is done more cryptically. After that, I labored in the heat finding very little until I got a nice half dollar signal. I wasn't surprised, then, to find this Walker, though I was surprised by the date - 18S. It was my first Walker out of the 40's. The next surprise was an additional signal in the hole; it turned out to be this 28 Buffalo. You can see in the picture that the Walker and Buff were snuggled together for several decades. The hunt ended with four clad quarters in the same hole; not a bad way to finish when the thermometer is pushing 90 degrees.

And I still haven't figured out how you came up with "wilver", but I agree. And the corollary is "Old Wilver is always better than new wilver."

Halfdime,
Great job on the finds. You have to love the big silver.

I really need to find a buffalo...they keep eluding me....

KirkPA - Everytime you write 'Wilver' I envision you as Barbara Walters. Your starting to give me nightmares. Please stop....lol

Re: "Do you feel lucky, punk?"

Good deal on a couple nice keepers. I have only found a few Walkers in the last couple years and I do believe they were all 40's vintage. The 18S is a common date - 10+million but worth more than the 40's and cooler. 8)

Right you are, Bob; the 16's, 17's and 19's tend to be way more valuable. I was disappointed to find the 18S very common, but I'm still delighted to have it.
