It seems that my new methods tend to cut down on
the number of items I find:

2016 (636).jpg 2016 (637).jpg

Anyone know what these infernal little pieces are? I seem to always
find one or two of them here. White on one side, silvery on the other.
Ring up like a dime. A pain to find in the plug! :(

Anyway, like I said, not much. But ya know what?

2016 (640).jpg
2016 (641).jpg

I think that if I can find a piece of silver every time
out.....I might be able to adjust. ;)

...and at least they aren't fighting. ;)

Thanks for peeking!

its a knock-out from an electrical box, painted on inside, zinc or galv. out side, just a guess.

thanks for sharing. marion

Thought that too. Although, it seems a bit too thick for that, it could be.

If you mean the Blingster's shiny-shiny, it's an earring. Nothing marked on it but it looks to me
as if it had been dipped in gold. :dontknow: There's overhang of the material underneath.

If you mean the curved piece at the bottom? I dunno, just looked like a hook of some sort.

Yeah, I've always been partial to that school of thought. Just one good find makes my day. But, ya know?
Sometimes, it's just plain fun to see many dollars worth, even clad. :) Gotta pay for the batteries somehow. ;)

Thanks!

I believe the design wasn't snake oriented, just ornamental. It does appear to be "dipped". Do they still do that nowadays?
It's completely non-magnetic. :dontknow:

My guess is Plastic Dipped in something harder to Appear gold when I see stuff like that. because they are detected, it must be a metal dip

Any day you score silver is a good day! Congrats!

I see those two have moved on to the bling.

Not sure what the little round thing is. It does seem to be a plug of some type, and they are around, i have found a few, they are solid metal. Almost like a knock out for a button or knob.

The stud earring looks kinda like what they used to call a love knot design.

How is your trash count or do you have any with your new approach in detecting?

I would be resuppling the aluminium recycling place if i used all metal mode and turned down my disc. & dug every target.

I may try it tho, in a less trashy part (if i can find that part) of the field.

Having a hard time getting out lately, so i may be detecting in the neighbors yard this week end, depending on the rain.

Well, recently, with these new techniques, my trash ratio as been between 3 and 6 to 1. Depending on how hard I'm using my own internal discriminator. Although the machine is wide open, I'm still trying to use my experience to determine what to dig. Am I missing things, probably, are they good things? I'd bet not as many as some might think.

My main thought is that if I dig EVERY single time the machine bleeps, I might as well sell it and use a backhoe. That's why I'm working so hard at understanding my machine's "language". I've had a couple short hunts where I've kept the trash to almost nothing. I'll still test a target every now and again but I call my target before I dig. Just to prove to me that I understood. I'm getting pretty good at it, even if I do say so my-own-self. ;)

Thanks!

I often hear " i told you it was a bottle cap" in my headphones after i dig one just because, i'm hoping its not.
