So I think from now on I'm going to just post what I write in my banner submissions. Here goes:

"Utter rarity and eye appeal. Looking back through the banners in the last couple of years I couldn't spot anything like it. I do think it's true potential took time and professional cleaning to reveal, so would hope that this would be considered even though it is not technically a recent find."

WOW! Beautiful find! Definitely deserving of the banner! I'd try to find the other half as well...you just never know! As mentioned by another poster I found an 8th regiment example....both halves. Glad I went back and found the other half. I believe you should be able to find a pic of mine in that book...but just in case here it is.Click image for larger version.

Congratulations on the banner! Outstanding example and great job on the cleaning. I really hope you can find the other half.
I have been lucky enough to find two in a pre-rev war camp. My hunting partner also found another example there as well. Three different styles.
Here are pictures of the ones we have found. No where near as fine as yours and am envious!! Would love to find a Regimental marked one.

Congrats on making the banner with your amazing rev war neck stock buckle. When I first saw it uncleaned last May, I voted banner then based on the extreme rarity of your piece. I am happy for you it cleaned up as well as it did and am glad you chose to have a professional like Leonard clean it. Great rev war relics like yours are such eye candy to me!!
