Went back to the site where I found the scripted I button last week for a morning hunt. We finally got some much needed rain and digging was much better. I didn't find a lot but what I found was good. Found several iron relics, some camp lead, a pistol bullet and the best find was a side lock hammer from a musket. This is the third hammer I've found but by far the best shape. This site has been hunted to death but if you go slow and dig it all it will still give alittle. Thanks for looking. Nice period shoes. I am sure here are still many keepers to come from there.

Congrats! I have a question. What is the iron object on the top right opposite the top left horseshoe? I found one exactly like that. Thanking you in advance.

It's a part to a "single tree" used to hook horses to wagons and other things. If you google horse single tree you will see many examples.

Thanks villagenut. These are the smallest shoes I've ever found. Two were in the same hole. Here is a picture for size. IMG_20161204_065658354.jpg

Nice finds. I like the horseshoes and musket hammer. I too hunt all my sites to death. Not every day will be an epic day, but they still usually give up a good find or two, and sometimes those hunted out sites will really surprise you.
