1859 is the first year of issue for Indians. Nice find. It has the "no shield" wreath on the back.

Very well done sir!

1859 is the first year of issue for Indians and considered rare. Nice find. It has the "no shield" wreath on the back.

Very well done sir!

The first "small cents" were thicker and made of a different alloy... flying eagles and Indians up to I believe 1864... they call them "fat Indians". Yours has no shield on the back and a different wreath then the later Indians... and it's in nice condition. I have one, but it is not nearly as nice as yours.

Best of luck to you.
