I found 7 buttons which all are soaking in distilled water. I was at the hayfield grid searching near the area the half dime was found. I'll post more pix later. This just looks so interesting I couldn't wait until later to post.
Enjoy the pix

Very cool button! Looks like possibly early 1800's because of the back mark. No idea about the design, though. Great find!

Really unique button. Almost has a pewter look to it, but the green tells its probably brass. Early 19th century for sure. Congrats!

Thanks

That button is awesome!!! That is what it is all about right there!!
Thanks Ken

I hit the "Noah button" with a few seconds of navel jelly hoping to bring up the silver plating, it worked.

I have a theory. Maybe Noah made a button for himself thousands of years ago, but he dropped it and it traveled all the way to the future U.S.!

Thanks kid
Most buttons I find are pretty much like the other six I found here. To find one with a dove with an olive branch in his mouth is so far from all the buttons I have found in the past three years. I have found some good buttons in this one hayfield.

I'll probably get beaten up for this, but...
Just possibly it could be a different type of bird building a nest. Doves have more of a fan tail rather than forked, and olive leaves are pointed, not rounded. But, certainly the makers may have called it a dove with olive branch anyway. Just saying possible.
Nice button though!

Yep, I agree with NHB. We see a similar type of bird along the waterfront where I work.

I believe the species is called a "Twin-breasted mattress thrasher".

Nice find Brad

I think that it is Noah... below the bird, it looks like a mountain, maybe Mount Ararat? I have never even seen a Bible, but I believe I saw a cartoon where Noah released a bird and it returned with a green twig... right?

Scrappy makes me laugh!

I think the stuff in the foreground is more sticks, the edge of the nest, as if we were sitting in it.
-but I could certainly be wrong about all of my ideas.

Whatever it is, Scrappy is funny and the button is way different than all those run of the mill buttons I usually find.
