ThanksVery cool button! Looks like possibly early 1800's because of the back mark. No idea about the design, though. Great find!
Ha ha, first thing that popped in my head too. thank you.A Noah button? Interesting.
Thanks
Thanks KenThat button is awesome!!! That is what it is all about right there!!
Thanks ArtVery nice button congrats
Thanks kidI have a theory. Maybe Noah made a button for himself thousands of years ago, but he dropped it and it traveled all the way to the future U.S.!
Thanks, I hope you have a fun hunt and find a mess of gold. That's a sweet find I love your posts you always seem to do great I think I'm going to move to your state LOL great job Thanks for sharing I'm going to get out this weekend will be in the 40s wooohooo keep an eye out for my gold cache Ill be sure to take pics LOL
Thanks, I hear ya.Cant help on the ID Brad, but its a nice looking button.
Thanks, I don't know what kind of bird it is?I'll probably get beaten up for this, but...
Just possibly it could be a different type of bird building a nest. Doves have more of a fan tail rather than forked, and olive leaves are pointed, not rounded. But, certainly the makers may have called it a dove with olive branch anyway. Just saying possible.
Nice button though!
Oooh yeah baby yeah!Yep, I agree with NHB. We see a similar type of bird along the waterfront where I work.
I believe the species is called a "Twin-breasted mattress thrasher".
Nice find Brad
I think that it is Noah... below the bird, it looks like a mountain, maybe Mount Ararat? I have never even seen a Bible, but I believe I saw a cartoon where Noah released a bird and it returned with a green twig... right?
Scrappy makes me laugh!
I think the stuff in the foreground is more sticks, the edge of the nest, as if we were sitting in it.
-but I could certainly be wrong about all of my ideas.
Whatever it is, Scrappy is funny and the button is way different than all those run of the mill buttons I usually find.
