Few finds for the day.

Didn't get alot today but I did get a nice pin fire shotgun shell (my third) and a few wheat pennys. Also found a brass object with some details and I have no idea what it is so help if you can. The wheats were a spill, four in one hole. Also found part of a stirrup, and a 1950 dog tag. This site is new to us and loaded with iron, so we'll see what happens. Thanks for looking.

If your mystery item were bigger, I would almost suggest that it was the end of a fireplace poker. You have the point for pushing wood and the little hook for pulling it back. Which just got me thinking that it may be part of a tool used to push and pull the wire racks in and out of an oven. I have seen them made out of wood, but there is no reason that you couldn't do a metal one.
