Gold posy ring from early site

I just dug my first early gold ring and am one happy relic hunter! My buddy and I just went to a couple of different sites where we detected and sifted. I scored the gold ring early on at a shallow depth of maybe 4 inches. I am trying to use the makers mark to figure out when it was made. I really hope it is from the 1700s . Any help on the maker would be appreciated! The inscription reads : "Remember the giver".

    Keith,

Beauty of a ring and appears to have some serious age....as to the makers mark unless it was a well known goldsmith probably quite difficult tracking it down.

My memory is not as sharp as it used to be but I seem to recall someone or other digging up a silver thimble and it it the same stamp, ie; remember the giver so it might have been a popular gift stamp back in the day.

    Regards + HH

Great find! I'd bet an Indian head cent that it's from the 1700s

Awesome. Looks high K! Unmarked? Probably as old as you hope.

I'll see if I can get an ID on the mark.

That's awesome! Did it ring up in the foil range? Or was this sifted?

I had my Deus remote in my pocket as I usually dig low trash sites by tone only. Every non- ferrous sound was dug and this ring was a good strong medium pitch.
